Emirates Motor Company sends out region’s first Mercedes-Benz Field Force to support fleet owners

Abu Dhabi - Cairo

To support Emirates Motor Company’s (EMC) commercial vehicles fleet customers, the Commercial Vehicles Division of EMC and Daimler Middle East & Levant (DMEL), are sending a ‘Mercedes-Benz Field Force’ team to travel to clients’ fleet workshops around the emirate of Abu Dhabi from 5 to 30 June 2011.

“One of our core objectives for this initiative is to ensure Mercedes-Benz vehicles on the roads are maintained properly, safe and that drivers are fully trained to handle their vehicles in case of an emergency,” commented Mr. Kamal Rafih. “This first-of-its-kind initiative is a team comprising of service and parts specialists from Emirates Motor Company, as well as a Mercedes-Benz factory expert from Germany, to support our clients’ operations and inspect their fleet vehicles.”

The road show will start in Madinet Zayed, located in the western region of the country and almost 155 kilometers (km) away from the city. EMC and DMEL’s proactive team will perform mobile workshop services offering customers:
- Free vehicle inspection checks and diagnosis
- Driver training on new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks
- Maintenance and repair technical advice and tips
- Service repair packages for 2011
- Competitive prices on spare parts packages

Besides Madinet Zayed, there are over 500 Mercedes-Benz trucks operating in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi including, Habshan and Al Ruwais. “Our main focuses are these often difficult to reach areas as there are increasing projects in sectors relating to transportation, oilfield services, contracting and ready-mix concrete,” confirmed Mr. Daniel Fitzjohn, General Commercial Vehicle Manager of EMC. “This initiative provides an ideal opportunity to further support our customers at their premises both in the Western Region and closer to us in Abu Dhabi to provide them with specialist support and advice in order to keep their fleet moving safely.”

Supported by ADNOC and Michelin, the Field Force team will also offer complimentary oil services and tyre checks for selected customers. Consisting of around eight people and three vehicles, the Field Force team will take care of the majority of inspections and repairs on-site at the customer’s premises.

The Driver Training Program will educate drivers on two core competencies; defensive and economic driving, in order to ensure trucks are operated at their optimum efficiency with upmost safety. Heavy trucks can pose a great threat to light vehicles such as sedans and four-wheels drives. Drivers need to be intensively trained on road safety for the wellbeing and protection of other road users.

The launch of the Mercedes-Benz Field Force further verifies EMC’s commitment to providing superior services with the passion to exceed all expectations. Emirates Motor Company also supports growth in the Western Region where key investments and projects are being executed.

As the flagship company of Al Fahim Group, Emirates Motor Company (EMC) symbolizes the phenomenal growth and success that Al Fahim has achieved. EMC houses the world's largest Mercedes-Benz facility and is synonymous with immaculate quality - in true Mercedes-Benz tradition.
